Job summary

Zapata Quantum is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to build AI-powered tools that accelerate how quantum applications are designed and resource-estimated. You will fuse modern AI with quantum circuit construction, compilation, and analysis, compressing weeks of expert effort into hours.

Qualifications

BS or MS in CS, Physics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience shipping software using LLMs or AI agents.
Strong Python programming and familiarity with LLM APIs.
Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and code tooling.
Knowledge of quantum computing concepts and resource estimation.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

Design and build AI-powered tools to accelerate quantum application design from intake to validation.
Develop automated resource estimation pipelines using LLMs and ML models.
Create agented workflows that orchestrate quantum SDKs, compilers, simulators, and analysis tools.
Integrate AI coding assistants into internal tooling to automate pipelines.
Benchmark and improve tooling against expert baselines.
Collaborate with quantum scientists to encode reasoning into reusable tools.
Deliver high-quality software with autonomy.
