Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Legal Consultant in Portland, OR, onsite with future hybrid flexibility. The role blends legal training with advisory skills to guide business owners and financial advisory firms through critical transitions, ownership changes, and strategic transactions.

The ideal candidate is a JD attorney or legal professional with 2+ years in legal, consulting, or related fields, and preferred experience in mergers and acquisitions or corporate transactions.

Qualifications

• JD required
• Active bar membership preferred
• Minimum 2 years of legal, consulting, or related experience
• Experience in mergers & acquisitions or corporate transactions preferred
• Experience with financial institutions or financial services organizations desired
• Ability to build trust with executives and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on entity structures, ownership strategies, succession planning, and transaction matters
• Lead client engagements from inception to completion as primary contact
• Explain legal, financial, and business concepts practically
• Draft, review, and analyze agreements and governance documents
• Guide ownership transitions and merger discussions
• Identify risks and opportunities and provide practical recommendations
• Manage multiple projects with high-quality deliverables and deadlines
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide integrated solutions
• Utilize internal systems to manage projects and progress
