Job summary

Northern Trust seeks an Investment Operations professional in California to prepare portfolio materials for client meetings and retrieve essential reports. You will set up files for new and existing clients, handle documentation, and coordinate with portfolio managers to address client requests.

The role involves tax issue research, trade processing, and communicating with clients to ensure timely actions and high service levels.

Qualifications

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to meet deadlines and resolve problems.
Knowledge of investment products and terminology gained through on‑the‑job training.
Progress toward CFA or CFP designation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Prepare portfolio materials for client meetings and retrieve reports as requested.
Set up client files with documentation (payments, changes, guidelines, fees).
Order reports for managers or clients as needed.
Communicate client requests and ensure follow‑ups with portfolio managers.
Interact with partners on a daily basis to relay information on client relationships.
Research tax discrepancies and oversee adjustments to client accounts.
