Job summary

Bonterra is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with campaigns, nonprofits, and partners to drive agentic AI adoption. You will design AI workflows, build skills on NGP VAN, and bridge client operations with technical capabilities.

This role requires strong engineering instincts, political ecosystem fluency, and travel to meet client needs. You will influence API expansion and contribute to scalable solutions across engagements.

Qualifications

3–5 years of professional software engineering or product management experience.
Experience building with LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, or MCP-based tooling.
Proficiency with Python, Node.js, or .NET and REST API fluency.

Responsibilities

Embed with client organizations to map workflows and identify AI automation opportunities.
Lead discovery sessions to co-develop a prioritized roadmap of agentic workflows.
Design and build agentic skills atop NGP VAN and related interfaces.
Manage the full skill delivery lifecycle for each client engagement.
Act as a technical advisor and help stakeholders adopt new agentic tooling.
Contribute to API expansion and document reusable components.
