Job summary

Steelcase's Coalesse brand is seeking an Ancillary Applications Designer in Chicago to support field sales and dealers with on-demand, client‑focused design solutions. You will translate client visions into compelling ancillary applications, collaborate with the Ancillary Sales team, and create drawings and renderings using CET Designer, AutoCAD or Revit.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design is required.
5+ years of experience in commercial interior design, preferably workplace/contract furniture.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or CET Designer.
Strong presentation, storytelling, and visual communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Ability to influence and guide the design process from concept to specification.
Willingness to travel up to ~20%.

Responsibilities

Translate client visions into compelling ancillary product applications.
Collaborate with Ancillary Sales Representatives to develop on-brand design solutions.
Lead or participate in design charrettes, showroom visits, and client sessions with dealers and A+D firms.
Create drawings, renderings, and specifications using CET Designer; AutoCAD and Revit a plus.
Develop narratives and visual storytelling highlighting value of solutions.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines with high design quality.
