Job summary

Merraine Group in New York State is seeking an experienced Account Lead to combine financial expertise with client relationship management and team leadership. You will own assigned client relationships, ensuring accounting deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with client needs.

You will delegate to offshore team members, manage onboarding, monitor workflows, and provide financial insights to support client decisions in a dynamic, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or client-facing financial services experience.
• Experience managing client accounts and/or accounting workflows.
• Familiarity with AP processes and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to delegate, prioritize, and manage multiple engagements.
• Experience working with offshore or distributed teams is a strong plus.
• Experience within an outsourced accounting, advisory, or professional services environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary owner of assigned client relationships and ensure deliverables are accurate and timely.
• Lead onboarding for new clients and identify opportunities to improve service and add value.
• Delegate effectively to offshore team members and review completed work.
• Maintain organized client information and monitor team capacity.
• Promote collaboration and accountability across the engagement team.
• Apply organizational policies, processes, and accounting best practices.
• Encourage the use of technology and automation to improve efficiency.
• Provide meaningful financial insights to support client decision-making.
• Maintain visibility into AP workflows and address issues proactively.
• Ensure high-quality client service across multiple industries.
