Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Client Care Specialist to serve clients at the intake stage, gather necessary documents, and guide them through the tax preparation journey. You will work with Tax Advisors to ensure all required information is in place and communicate pricing clearly to reduce client anxiety.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork, and delivering a reassuring client experience in a busy, tax-season environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset.
• Working knowledge of individual tax return preparation and IRS regulations.
• Passing score of H&R Block Tax knowledge assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for clients in a warm, professional environment.
• Guide clients through the intake process by collecting and organizing tax documents.
• Clearly explain the steps of the tax preparation process and pricing to clients.
• Collaborate with Tax Advisors to ensure they have all required client information.
• Act as a liaison between the client and Tax Advisor for a seamless experience.
• Educate clients on H&R Block’s service options and digital tools.
• Assist clients with paying or electronically signing their tax return and escalate as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information according to company policies.
• Work with office staff to improve the client experience and support office goals.
• Conduct follow-up communications to ensure client satisfaction.
