Weber Shandwick in Washington, DC seeks a curious, collaborative Associate to join our Corporate and Public Affairs team. You will execute communications, reputation management, and earned media strategies for clients at the intersection of business, policy, media, and culture.

You will own assigned workstreams, develop research, create materials, and staff projects while balancing shifting priorities. This is a hybrid DC-based position with growth opportunities across the agency.

Qualifications

• Entry-level or 1 year of experience in communications, PR, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Media Relations & Strategy: Build and maintain targeted media lists, draft pitches and press releases, and conduct outreach to reporters across business, policy, and trade publications.
• Content Development: Draft press releases, statements, talking points, social copy, and briefing materials for senior review.
• Monitoring & Analysis: Track client news, issues and policy developments, and compile daily and weekly coverage reports.
• Research & Intelligence: Conduct research on companies, issues, stakeholders and competitors, summarize findings for the team.
• Strategic Ideation: Participate in team brainstorms with fresh ideas to advance client priorities.
• Account Support: Prepare for client meetings, draft agendas, capture notes, update trackers.
• Growth & New Business: Contribute to research and proposals.
