Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through Optum Life Sciences, seeks a sales contributor to grow presence in mid-market pharma. You will advance RWD licensing, HEOR/RWE, and clinical trial analytics while managing senior client relationships and aligning solutions with strategic objectives.

You will work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., travel up to 25%, and participate in annual planning to drive profitable growth and client success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of strategic business development or client management in pharma/healthcare
• 2+ years of driving relationships with senior stakeholders
• Experience selling in mid- and/or emerging pharma markets
• Experience negotiating B2B sales and influencing executives

We seek an experienced sales contributor to grow our presence within the small to mid-sized pharma segment.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Drive growth with assigned strategic and key pharmaceutical clients, with a focus on pharma organizations located in mid-market. Responsible for client relationship management and sales, partnering with consulting and the business units to drive new growth and successful delivery execution
• Selling focus is Real World Data (RWD) licensing, HEOR/RWE, Epidemiology analytics, and Clinical Trial Research solutions
• Develop deep relationships with pharmaceutical leaders), provide strategic, thought leadership on the client's industry and market. Also, Understand the client's unique business environment and challenges
• Utilize consulting selling and collaboration skills to architect Optum Life Sciences solutions
• Ensure Optum understands the client's strategic objectives and the initiatives that support the business strategy
• Partner with client delivery teams to ensure client expectations of service and execution are clearly understood, communicated, and met
• This role is a key contributor to the annual client planning process and works with the team to execute, update, and refresh the plan throughout the year
• Develop and monitor client financial performance and profitability
• Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks and drive continuous improvement
• Maintain disciplined opportunity, pipeline, and account planning with clear next actions and risk visibility

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of strategic business development or client management experience in pharmaceutical/ healthcare industry
• 2+ years of experience in deep driving, productive relationships with senior stakeholders
• Experience selling in Mid, and/ or Emerging Pharmaceutical Markets
• Experience in negotiating B2B sales, influencing executive level stakeholders
• Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions to a wide variety of unique market problems
• Demonstrated ability to effectively message, position and influence clients
• Demonstrated ability to work across internal operating environments with a high level of collaboration
• Proven advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions
• Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience selling real world clinical and claims data and selling solutions supported by real world evidence generation. Familiarity with pharma Medical Affairs, Clinical, HEOR, RWD and related functions
• Experience selling solutions for clinical trials teams
• Experience improving processes or products through automation, analytics, or AI-enabled ways of working
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and operate effectively in a changing, matrixed environment
