Job summary

BigBear.ai's Ask Sage division seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with government and commercial clients, embedding with customers to design, prototype, and deploy Generative AI agents and plugins using Python. You will lead technical engagement, architect solutions, and deliver full-stack features while upholding security and data privacy.

Candidates should have 5–10 years of software engineering experience, ability to obtain Secret clearance, and experience with Generative AI

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant software engineering experience, including Python.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• At least 1 year building Generative AI solutions and agents.
• Strong prompt engineering skills and experience with Generative AI frameworks.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills to own execution from start to finish.
• Willing to work at customer locations and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Research with decision-makers to understand customer processes and identify value.
• Provide hands-on Generative AI support from concept to deployment.
• Architect and maintain Generative AI agents and plugins using Python.
• Embed with customers to lead technical design and production deployment.
• Develop full-stack Generative AI features within Ask Sage platform.
• Build relationships with customer leadership to maximize value.
• Apply secure coding practices and optimize performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, secure code and protect data privacy.
• Stay current with Python, Generative AI, and related tech trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into customer systems.
