Job summary

Workman Labs in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Embedded AI Engineer to deliver production-grade AI solutions directly within customer environments. You will code, debug, and deploy advanced agentic workflows inside client systems, bridging Google Cloud consulting capabilities with enterprise deployments.

You will collaborate with AI research, product, and pre-sales teams to translate prototypes into scalable offerings, while ensuring performance, safety, and observability across pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years software development experience using Python or similar languages.
• Experience delivering production AI solutions from conception through launch.
• Experience building data pipelines using vector databases and RAG architectures.
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions with customers.
• Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP).
• Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in AI, CS, or related field.
• Preferred: experience with multi-agent systems frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, ADK).
• Preferred: knowledge of LLM-native optimization metrics and techniques.
• Preferred: post-sales or technical consulting delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex AI applications, transitioning prototypes to production-grade agentic workflows
• Architect integration layers between Google's AI products and customer infrastructure
• Build evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks for accuracy, safety, and latency requirements
• Identify repeatable patterns and friction points in the AI stack for product feature requests
• Collaborate with pre-sales and product teams on development best practices
