Qualifications

Description

As a Client Advocate, you will handle direct case management services to clients currently at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line who live in Boston, Malden, Medford, and Everett. If you are a detail-oriented individual passionate about community development and possess the skills to excel in this role, we invite you to join our team at ABCD! Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining case management files, and providing supportive services and referrals
  • Conduct intake process and assist clients in establishing educational and occupational goals.
  • Develop positive working relationships with various organizations within the public and private sectors to expand placement efforts.
  • Identify support services needed and make appropriate referrals and orient new clients to referred programs.
  • Conduct workshops for the diverse populations of a specific community.
  • Assist clients in properly completing job applications and resumes for employment opportunities.
  • Follow up with prospective agencies and employers to maintain up-to-date information on employment opportunities.
  • Provide clients with services for EITC tax preparation, food pantry, fuel assistance, SummerWorks, and Virtual Gateway services, including food stamps and health insurance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, with up to one year of experience in case management, job development or general office support required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
