Job summary

Mowery & Schoenfeld, LLC seeks a CAS Associate to join its CAS Advisory team in Lincolnshire, IL. The role focuses on client accounting advisory projects, including remediations, new procedures implementations, and U.S. GAAP conversions, with collaboration directly with senior management.

The ideal candidate is CPA eligible with at least one year of accounting experience (internships counted). Bachelor's in accounting required; advanced MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel, are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA eligibility preferred.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience; internship counts.
• CPA eligible or CPA candidate required.
• Analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client service focus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Client accounting advisory projects including remediations, new procedures, US GAAP conversions.
• Month-end close process.
• Preparation of financial statements.
• Client trainings on new procedures and accounting principles.
• Preparation of financial forecasts and KPI reports.
• Bank statement reconciliation.
• Accounts payable and vendor management.
• Accounts receivable management and cash receipts recording.
• Payroll accounting.
• Retirement contributions processing.
• Maintenance of sub-ledgers for balance sheet accounts.
• Assistance with various business tax filings (1096, 1099, payroll tax, sales tax).
• Assistance on annual audits and transaction projects.
