Job summary

Mowery & Schoenfeld, LLC is seeking a CAS Associate to join our CAS Advisory team in Lincolnshire, IL. The role focuses on client accounting advisory projects, month-end close, financial statement prep, training, and forecasting, with direct exposure to senior management.

The ideal candidate is a CPA or CPA-eligible with at least 1 year of accounting experience (internship counts), a BA in accounting, and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• CPA eligibility and 1+ year accounting experience (internships count).
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; advanced degree a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide exceptional client service and commit to ongoing learning.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Client Accounting advisory projects, including remediations and procedures.
• Month-end close process.
• Preparation of financial statements.
• Client trainings on new procedures and accounting principles.
• Preparation of financial forecasts & KPI reports.
• Bank statement reconciliation.
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities.
• Payroll accounting and retirement contributions processing.
• Maintenance of sub-ledgers for balance sheet accounts.
• Support for tax filings and annual audits.
