Job summary

The Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA is seeking an Account Specialist to assist with account opening and maintenance, manage online services, and provide premium customer service to ELCA ministries and investors.

Responsibilities include handling deposits, debit cards, title investments, and trust paperwork, plus monitoring for fraud and staying compliant with banking regulations. Travel as needed and support cross-functional roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or combination of experience and education preferred.
3-5 years experience in a depository institution or equivalent with retirement accounts.
3-5 years Call Center experience required, banking or Credit Union preferred.
Strong knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations and policies.
Able to handle complex problems involving multiple factors and variables.
Excellent verbal and written communication and strong customer service.
Adapt quickly to computer programs and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Provide superior customer service via Call Center and Account Relations teams; handle inquiries and cross-sell.
Assist customers with account opening and account entitlement.
Manage online services: enrollments, secure email, and online account monitoring.
Perform account servicing: order debit cards, trust paperwork, title investments, signers changes.
Close and pay out deceased investor accounts and communicate with attorneys as needed.
Monitor accounts for fraud and stay updated on MIF products and compliance.
Support Lending Specialist and IRA Specialist roles as needed.
Stay informed on state and federal banking regulations affecting openings.
