Job summary

Sikich is seeking a Manager, Client Accounting Services (CAS) in Chicago, IL to oversee outsourced accounting engagements as Controller or Accounting Manager, delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and leading the month-end close.

You will mentor staff, manage client relationships, and collaborate with tax, audit, and advisory teams to improve processes and drive strategic insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 5+ years in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting services.
• 2+ years supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience leading month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Experience operating as Controller/Accounting Manager for multiple clients or units.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary Controller/Accounting Manager for assigned clients and oversee all accounting functions.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for GAAP compliance.
• Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Establish and improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows for efficiency.
• Manage client relationships and act as trusted advisor on financial matters.
• Coordinate and manage client deliverables, deadlines, and engagement scope.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for clients.
• Assist clients with system implementations and accounting clean-up projects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with tax, audit, and advisory teams to deliver integrated services.
• Mentor and develop team members; provide performance feedback.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and business development within CAS.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and firm policies across engagements.
