Job summary

MMB+CO is seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Associate to join our Advisory Division. This role builds a foundation in accounting, financial reporting, client service, and advisory support for diverse industries.

You will support bookkeeping, month-end close, financial reporting, and reporting projects while engaging with Senior Associates, Managers, and Principals. First six months require in-person work, with potential flexibility thereafter.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MBA, MS Finance, CPA, EA, or other advanced credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support bookkeeping, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with client meetings, advisory support, and presentations.
  • Participate in technology initiatives, dashboards, automation, and reporting enhancements.
  • Work on special projects to improve processes for clients and the CAS practice.

Job description

MMB+CO is seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Associate to join our growing Advisory Division. This position provides an opportunity to build a strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, client service, and advisory support while working with a variety of businesses and industries.

The CAS Associate will support bookkeeping, month-end close, financial reporting, client service requests, reporting projects, and advisory support activities while working closely with Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Principals. The role also includes opportunities to participate in technology initiatives, process improvements, reporting enhancements, automation projects, and other special projects that support both clients and the continued growth of the CAS practice.

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, working directly with clients, and developing a long-term career in accounting and advisory services.

A Closer Look At The Role:
Client Accounting Services
  • Support bookkeeping, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
  • Assist clients with QuickBooks Online questions, troubleshooting, and general accounting support.
  • Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and supporting client deliverables.
  • Participate in client meetings and gain exposure to advisory and consulting engagements.
  • This role includes providing services directly at client sites and requires the flexibility to work from client locations when business needs dictate.
Team & Engagement Support
  • Work closely with Senior Associates, Managers, and Senior Managers on client engagements and special projects.
  • Support implementation of recommendations, process improvements, and client requests.
  • Assist with preparation of financial analysis, reporting packages, and client presentations.
  • Participate in special projects and consulting engagements as assigned.
  • This role is required to work in person for the first six months, with potential flexibility thereafter based on client and department needs.
Technology & Process Improvement
  • Participate in technology initiatives, automation projects, and workflow improvements for both clients and internal operations.
  • Assist with dashboard development, reporting enhancements, and process optimization projects.
  • Learn and support accounting and business systems utilized by clients and the firm.
  • Support initiatives involving reporting, analytics, AI, automation, and process improvement.
Professional Development
  • Develop a strong foundation in accounting, finance, client service, and advisory services.
  • Gain exposure to controller, CFO, advisory, and consulting engagements over time.
  • Participate in training, continuing education, and firm development opportunities.
  • Continue building technical, analytical, and client relationship skills.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • MBA, MS Finance, CPA, EA, or other advanced credentials are a plus.
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Internship, accounting, finance, consulting, business analysis, or related experience preferred.
  • QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or other accounting software such as SAGE or NetSuite experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Power BI, dashboard development, reporting tools, automation, AI tools, or data analytics is a plus.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, accounting, or advisory-related projects is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
