Johnson Block & Company is seeking an experienced leader to guide the Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAS) practice, delivering outsourced accounting, controller, CFO, and advisory services to Wisconsin businesses. The Director will build client relationships, develop staff, and drive growth, partnering with firm leadership to shape CAS strategy and operations with potential for future advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience managing client relationships and professional staff.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction and growth of the CAS practice.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to develop and execute departmental goals.
• Monitor performance, profitability, and key metrics.
• Identify opportunities to enhance services and support client needs.
• Contribute to firm-wide strategic initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on complex accounting engagements.
• Help clients make informed financial and operational decisions.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value through advisory services.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support the continued growth of the CAS practice.
• Develop relationships with referral sources and professional networks.
• Represent the firm through networking and professional involvement.
• Collaborate with other service lines to identify client opportunities.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
• Foster a collaborative environment and knowledge sharing.
• Manage staffing, workload, and capacity planning.
• Oversee department workflows and service delivery processes.
• Promote the use of technology, automation, and AI tools.
