Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a courteous clerical assistant to support attorneys and staff in a fast-paced legal office in Texas. The role involves filing, data entry, records management, and front desk coverage as needed.

Responsibilities include handling calls, directing inquiries, and maintaining electronic and physical case files with accuracy. This position offers a part-time schedule with benefits and TCDRS retirement participation.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year job related experience.
  • Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 wpm).
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to attorneys, legal staff and department personnel.
  • Assist with maintaining physical and electronic legal files, case files, records and tracking systems.
  • Answers telephone inquiries and/or directs to proper person or accurately records telephone messages.
  • Serves as front desk backup and provide courteous and professional assistance to the the public, county employees, elected official, attorneys and other agencies
  • Receives and distributes correspondence for the department.
  • Preforms data entry and updates case management, records management, and other departmental systems with accurate and timely information.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year job related experience.

  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.

SALARY: $15.30 per hour, less than 30 hours per week

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling 3 positions
