Job summary

Knightwood Associates Limited is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee site inspections across construction projects in the Suffolk and Norfolk area. You will produce detailed technical reports, ensure works comply with contract requirements, Building Regulations, and warranty standards, and manage defect trackers with site teams.

The ideal candidate will have ICWCI or CIOB membership, strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, and proficiency with reporting tools.

Job description

A well established construction consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Clerk of Works.

This is a site/home based role involving regular inspections across a range of construction projects in the Suffolk and Norfolk area.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Undertaking regular site inspections and monitoring construction progress
• Producing clear, detailed and timely professional reports
• Checking works against contractual drawings, Employers' Requirements, warranty provider standards and Building Regulations
• Identifying defects, discrepancies and areas of non compliance
• Taking ownership of defect trackers and proactively following up with site teams
• Managing snagging, de-snagging and end of defects liability period inspections
• Maintaining accurate project records in line with the company's filing and quality assurance procedures

Experience needed:

• Previous experience working as a Clerk of Works or Construction Inspector
• Membership of the ICWCI or CIOB
• Strong knowledge of building construction processes
• Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Experience using Field View or PlanRadar
• The ability to produce high quality technical reports
• Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• A full UK driving licence
