Job summary

Aspire Bakeries is seeking a Maintenance Clerk / Purchasing Administrator at our Van Nuys, CA bakery to manage maintenance purchasing, inventory control, and documentation while supporting planning, cost control, and reliability. Responsibilities include issuing purchase orders, negotiating pricing, maintaining spare parts inventory, using SAP CMMS, and preparing weekly reports for leadership.

The role starts on 1st shift, 6AM–2:30PM, with weekend availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and communicate effectively with employees and vendors.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Access).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders and negotiating pricing.
• Maintain spare parts inventory accuracy and service levels.
• Utilize SAP CMMS to track inventory and support maintenance planning.
• Coordinate receiving, stocking, and movement of maintenance materials and spare parts.
• Generate weekly and monthly purchasing, inventory, and budget reports.

About The Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Clerk / Purchasing Administrator to join our team at our Van Nuys, CA bakery. As a Maintenance Clerk / Purchasing Administrator, you will be accountable for managing maintenance purchasing activities, inventory control, and documentation while supporting maintenance planning, cost control, and operational reliability.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 1st Shift
• Hours: 6AM – 2:30PM
• Weekend Availability: As needed, days off Saturday & Sunday

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $27

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

• Manage maintenance purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders, negotiating pricing, and ensuring accounting compliance
• Maintain spare parts inventory accuracy, service levels, and inventory turns to support equipment uptime and reliability
• Utilize SAP CMMS to track inventory, reduce costs, and support maintenance planning and execution
• Coordinate receiving, stocking, and physical movement of maintenance materials and spare parts
• Generate and deliver weekly and monthly purchasing, inventory, and budget reports to department leadership
• Support maintenance policies, procedures, and World Class Manufacturing principles within the maintenance storeroom
• Represent the company professionally when working with vendors, suppliers, and external contractors

• 5+ years of experience in a food manufacturing or industrial plant environment
• Experience managing maintenance storerooms, inventory metrics, and purchasing processes
• Familiarity with Crystal Report Writer
• Experience supporting capital projects and maintenance budgeting activities
