Job summary

Vulcan Industries is seeking a Shipping Clerk for our Vincent, AL onsite warehouse. You will compile finished product inventory, maintain shipping records in the global shop system, and coordinate transport for shipments per sales requirements.

The role includes assisting with physical inventory, reporting in spreadsheets for sales and accounting, and backing up the material handler as needed. Strong basic math, data entry, and forklift operation are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse environment.
• At least 6 months experience as a shipping clerk, shipping through Fed-EX & UPS.
• Ability to perform basic math operations, including decimals and fractions.
• Ability to read methods and procedures and write reports in proper format.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including mainframe data entry, basic spreadsheet use, and word processing.

Job Summary

This position is located onsite at our Vincent, AL Warehouse. The Shipping Clerk compiles and maintains finished product inventory and shipping records in the global shop system. Arranges for transport of finished product according to requirements established by sales service personnel. Maintains daily, weekly, monthly, and annual shipping reports in spreadsheet format for sales and accounting purposes. Serves as backup to department material handler operating material handling equipment as needed. Assists with physical inventory activities. Maintains housekeeping in the work area.
