This is a part-time, non-benefited position in our Parks, Arts & Recreation Department that involves front desk reception and office work. Work duties include: frequent interaction with the public in person and on the telephone, and using the automated registration system to schedule, record and process class, athletic and facility registrations. In addition, employee will be answering questions and informing patrons of activities, classes and amenities available at the Senior Activity Center.CLICK HERE to visit our website to view the variety of activities and programs we offer at the Senior Center.
Hours of Work:
The schedule is usually Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a half hour lunch
In this role, you will:- Work generally involves answering telephones and interacting with the public as the receptionist, photocopying materials; distributing mail; filing a variety of materials according to established department procedures; archiving material and physically moving boxes to appropriate area; and word processing or typing correspondence, reports and forms.
- Work assignments may involve data entry or cashiering; performing recordkeeping or more advanced bookkeeping functions; using computers for word processing, data entry and spreadsheet assignments.
- Deals tactfully and courteously with the public, co-workers, and other City employees, occasionally in difficult customer service situations.
What we are looking for:- High school diploma or equivalent
We would love if you have:- Receptionist experience
- Microsoft Office experience in a Windows environment
- Knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
