Job summary

Azusa Solutions LLC is seeking a Cleared Solaris & Linux System Administrator to join our team in the DC/MD/NOVA corridor. The role emphasizes hands-on management of Solaris and Linux environments, IBM Enterprise Storage, Veritas NetBackup, and vulnerability management, with requirement for TS/SCI with Poly clearance.

The successful candidate will administer production systems, manage storage and backup solutions, patch systems, and enforce security configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Active TS/SCI with Poly required.
• 3+ years of Solaris system administration experience.
• 3+ years of system administration experience with OLVM, RHEL, CentOS, or similar.
• Experience with IBM Enterprise Storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup administration.
• Experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows.
• Familiarity with STE/STIN processes and NSF-related security frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Linux security, system hardening, and compliance practices.
• Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Python, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain system security configurations, including NSF frameworks/policies
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and compliance requirements

Azusa Solutions is seeking a System Administrator to join our team of talented consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company comprised of highly qualified, highly impactful, and multi-talented individuals.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing enterprise Solaris and Linux environments and supporting storage, backup, security, and patching systems. This role requires hands-on expertise with Solaris Operating System, IBM Enterprise Storage, Veritas NetBackup, and vulnerability management tools, along with a solid understanding of system hardening and package management.

*Candidate must be local to the DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia area.*

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification
• 3+ years of hands-on Solaris System Administration experience
• 3+ years of hands-on System Administration experience (OLVM, RHEL, CentOS, or similar)
• Experience with IBM Enterprise Storage systems
• Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup (NetBackup Administration)
• Experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows
• Proficiency with YUM package management and patching strategies
• Familiarity with STE/STIN processes and NSF-related security frameworks
• Solid understanding of Linux security, system hardening, and compliance practices
• Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent certification
• Experience in enterprise environments with high availability and disaster recovery requirements
• Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar)
• Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
