Job summary

Bestgate Engineering is seeking a Cleared Software Engineer - Java to join a high-performing Agile team supporting mission-critical enterprise applications. You will build, enhance, and modernize backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies in Linux and containerized environments.

The role requires TS/SCI w/Poly clearance, 6+ years of experience, and hands-on experience with AWS, MySQL/Oracle, Maven, GitLab, and Node.js.

Cleared Software Engineer - Java

Summary

This role offers the opportunity to build, enhance, and modernize backend services while working with modern technologies including Java and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving system performance and reliability, and collaborating with a team focused on delivering high-quality solutions.

Required

• 6+ years of software development/engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java development.
• Experience with Spring Boot backend services.
• Experience with a JavaScript framework such as Angular.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Experience with Docker/containerized environments.
• Experience troubleshooting issues, resolving defects, and implementing application enhancements.
• Experience maintaining and updating software libraries and dependencies.
• Experience with framework and code-level changes.
• Ability to support deployments and production/release activities.
• Ability to participate in Agile planning and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additionalexperience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
