Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Cleanroom Superintendent to independently manage on-site activities and ensure strict compliance with quality, safety, and cleanliness standards on a $50M project. This role is 100% on-site with potential subsistence or relocation, and initial work will be in the Chicagoland area.

The candidate will lead day-to-day coordination of trade contractors, develop work plans, and uphold contract standards while collaborating with the project team to ensure timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• Experience leading a component of work or whole project for $30M+ on commercial/industrial construction in a superintendent role.
• Previous experience with clean rooms, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, or R&D facilities.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work meeting the project schedule.
• Develops and communicates the work plan for changes in the field.
• Maintain understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Obtain permits for construction purposes.
• Lead safety efforts and enforce safety compliance on site.
• Manage project schedule and contingency plans.
• Coordinate with PM, field engineers, and subcontractors on logistics and sequence.
