Job summary

Crane Co. is seeking an Assembler II to perform assembly tasks under supervision in a manufacturing environment that may require cleanroom conditions and adherence to military and FDA standards.

The role involves preparing components, inspecting parts, testing assemblies, and operating equipment such as Die Attach Machines, Wire Bonders, and X-Ray Machines. You will support safety, quality initiatives, and cross-training, with possible overtime.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; proficiency in reading comprehension of English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned assembly tasks.
  • Prepare components prior to assembly, clean, mark, and inspect components/subassemblies/finished assemblies.
  • Test finished assemblies.
  • Operate equipment such as Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray Machine.
  • Observe health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Identify and report difficulties affecting quality.
  • Cross-train on at least one process within the cell.
  • Support Crane Business System initiatives including 5S and Standard Work.
  • Overtime as needed.
  • Complete job-related training courses.
  • Operate microscope up to 8 hours per day.

ob Summary:

The AssemblerII works underclosesupervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace&Electronicsproducts in accordance withmilitarystandards, Food and Drug Administration standards,and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform assigned assembly tasks
  • Preparecomponents prior to assembly, clean components, mark, andinspectcomponents, subassemblies, or completed assemblies
  • Test finished assemblies
  • Operateassigned equipment and machinery(i.e.-Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray Machine)
  • Observeproper health and safety proceduresin handling hazardous chemicals
  • Identify and reportto lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness andquality of the work in process
  • Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement
  • Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy;
  • Cross-trainto work onatleastone process within the cell
  • Completejob-related company training courses
  • SupportCrane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, and other initiatives as they arise
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
  • Operation of a Microscope (Up to 8 hours a day)
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits
  • May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience:2-5years ofSmall ComponentAssemblyexperiencein a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Skills:Strong verbaland written communication; Proficiency inreading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents)of the English language; Basic computer skills (understandingofbasic software)
  • Abilities:Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness;Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability towork well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high volume setting
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IPC Soldering Certification
Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions could include a Class 7 or 8 Cleanroom, or general manufacturing environment
  • Up to 8 hours of Microscope work daily
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

Standing: 25%*percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Sitting: 75%*percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds

Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds

Mental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses

Workspace: assembly cell
