Job summary

Commercial Plastics is seeking a dedicated cleaner to maintain a safe, orderly manufacturing floor. You will remove oil and debris, keep presses and adjacent areas clean, and help meet uptime goals.

Follow safety, quality and ISO procedures; demonstrate reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Physical demands include lifting up to 55 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in a hot environment with cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• No Experience required but would prefer previous factory experience.
• Understands and adheres to departmental work instructions, company policies and ISO standards.
• Demonstrates urgency with cleaning spills and leaks (oil leaks from presses).
• Exhibits strong communication skills and asks for guidance when needed.
• Shows self-motivation related to safety and teamwork.
• Follows safe work practices and facility safety requirements.
• Demonstrates accountability and sound judgement.
• Excellent interpersonal and self-motivation skills.
• Works well with others to complete tasks.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensures cleanliness of plant, removes oil and debris from floor, eliminating safety hazards and to meet unplanned downtime goals

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures company standards for safety, quality and customer satisfaction are met or exceeded
• Maintains an excellent attendance record
• Recommends safety improvement to reduce cost and maximize profitability
• Work independently and primarily under self-direction
• Ensures floors stay free of oil and are safe for all people in facility
• Ensures all areas surrounding presses are clean
• Notifies management concerning need for repairs or other concerns of the facility
• Performs all other assignments as required

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Able to lift 55 lbs. to shoulder height on an on-going basis
• Push, pull, bend, twist, and stoop on an on-going basis

• Stand for extended periods of time
• Able to tolerate hot humid environment for extended periods

Work Environment:

This position is often required to conduct business on the manufacturing floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to chemical or electrical shock risk. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and noise levels that are typically moderate.
