Block by Block is hiring a Cleaning Ambassador to keep public spaces clean and welcoming. The role involves outdoor work across assigned zones, interacting with pedestrians, and reporting on tasks completed.

We offer weekly pay, pay advances, PTO, and free uniforms. This position is ideal for retirees, veterans, and students seeking their first job, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but not required; we will train.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Responsabilités

• Carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone with a positive demeanor.
• Acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting and provide city information as needed.
• Remove litter, graffiti, and debris from streets, sidewalks, and public areas.
• Pull weeds at tree wells and sidewalks.
• Damp wipe outdoor surfaces and straighten items like trash can lids and news boxes.
• Monitor for safety issues and complete basic daily reports in English.

Pay Range: $19.00to $19.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)

What You'll Be Doing :

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
