Block by Block is hiring a Cleaning Ambassador to serve the public spaces in the assigned zone. You will be visible outdoors, greet pedestrians, and perform cleaning tasks with a rolling trash can. The role emphasizes a friendly, professional demeanor and strong English reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Experience desired but not required; will train.

• Able to walk or move during an eight-hour shift with breaks.
• Able to work outdoors in all conditions.

Responsabilités

• Maintain visibility while performing cleaning tasks in the assigned zone.
• Greet pedestrians and provide city information as needed.
• Remove litter and graffiti from streets, sidewalks, and public areas.
• Pull weeds at tree wells, cracks, and vacant lots.
• Dampen wipe outdoor surfaces and maintain cleanliness.

What You'll Be Doing :

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed which requires being proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
