Responsibilities include cleaning floors, surfaces, operating cleaning equipment, handling chemicals per guidelines, attending safety meetings, and supporting security and hazard reporting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Comfort working in varied indoor/outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors, furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, windows, and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and dispose of debris.
• Safely use and mix cleaning chemicals per instructions.
• Operate floor scrubbers and industrial vacuums.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed using hand trucks.
• Maintain janitorial supplies and keep closets organized.
• Follow OSHA, company, and local safety procedures; report unsafe conditions.
• Attend safety meetings and hazard assessments.
• Assist with building security and safety tasks.
• Work around powered equipment and in tight/confined spaces; may use ladders.
• Perform pest-control tasks when required.
• Perform other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.

Job Title: Cleaner/Sanitation

Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Distribution Center Cleaner conducts the deep cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area in a distribution center. This person operates at the direction of a supervisor, either singly or as a member of a team. Safe operation in accordance with Company policies is of prime importance.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain floors, furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, windows, glass, mirrors, equipment, and other building surfaces using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, polish, remove stains, and dispose of debris, trash, and cardboard.
• Safely use and mix cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and company standards.
• Operate powered cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, industrial vacuums, and cardboard balers.
• Move furniture, boxes, equipment, and other materials as needed, using hand trucks or other equipment when appropriate.
• Maintain janitorial equipment and keep supply closets and work areas clean, organized, and in good working order; request supplies as needed.
• Follow OSHA, company, and local safety requirements and procedures. Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries promptly.
• Attend required safety meetings, training programs, and hazard assessments.
• Help maintain building security and safety, including locking doors and identifying potential hazards.
• Work safely around powered equipment, at heights, and in tight or confined spaces. May be required to use ladders, drive company vehicles, or perform basic repairs.
• Perform pest-control tasks when required and in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Perform other cleaning, maintenance, and related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces
• Generally, in an indoor setting; however, may participate in outside activities and events.
• Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
