Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all applicable painting equipment.
• Evaluate surface preparation to ensure SSPC compliance.
• Apply coatings to required dry mils per specifications.
• Know different coating types and application methods.
• Follow environmental rules and PPE requirements.
• Read and layout work orders and piece marks.
• Adhere to safety rules and maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties per management direction.

We are looking for a professional with a growth mindset who desires a progressive long-term career.Core ResponsibilitiesOperation and maintenance of all applicable equipment.Evaluate surface preparation to assure accuracy and compliance to SSPC Codes.Apply coatings to wet mils necessary to achieve the dry mils required by the job specifications.Knowledge of different types of coatings and application methods.Knowledge of Environmental rules and regulations.Use of grinders, chippers, sanders, and overhead cranes as needed.Read and layout work orders or receive instructions from the supervisor regarding cleaning.Reading piece mark numbers.Need to know SSPC Codes.Keeps work area organized and clean.Perform other routine duties per management direction.Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirementsEducation/Training/Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & LicensesEquipment Knowledge & Skills – may include but not limited to hand blasting, machine blasting, sprayer and air compressor.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
