Job summary

SUNY Brockport is seeking cleaners to perform routine cleaning and related tasks across campus facilities. Positions may be full- or part-time with multiple shifts, requiring independence or teamwork and adherence to safety rules. Heavy lifting up to 30 lbs and use of cleaning equipment are expected.

Preferred candidates hold a High School Diploma or equivalent and can follow written and oral instructions. Benefits eligibility is noted in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, stocks, and supplies designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, using auto scrubbers, shampooers and burnishers)
• Shovels snow around sidewalks and stairs surrounding campus building
• Performs medium to heavy physical labor, lifting 30lbs
• Works independently as well as in a group setting
• Carries out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
• Notifies management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Safe use and application of cleaning chemicals
• Follows all health and safety regulations
• Performs and documents routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Overtime may be required as needed

Job description

Cleaners perform routine manual labor requiring medium to heavy physical effort, with basic knowledge of various cleaning products and equipment; and the ability to climb scaffolding. The cleaner positions may be available for various shifts and may be full or part-time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Work Schedule:

Various shifts and days, 40 hours/week: Monday-Friday, 5:00am-1:30pm; 7:00am-3:30pm; 3:00pm-11:30pm; 10:30pm - 7:00am.
