Job summary

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cleaner role located in Dryden, NY working second shift (3-11:30pm). The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas. Day-to-day tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, disinfecting high-touch surfaces, and replenishing supplies. The role also involves reporting maintenance issues, following established safety and sanitation procedures, and using cleaning equipment and products according to district guidelines. The Cleaner works collaboratively with other facilities staff to support a healthy learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing facilities.
• Basic knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective gear, with attention to health and safety standards.
• Strong reliability, time management, and ability to follow schedules and written or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful school environment and interacting courteously with students, staff, and community members.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks as required by the position.
• Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities cleaning work in schools or similar settings is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to undergo any required background checks in accordance with school district policies and state regulations.
