Job summary

Servicon, a family and women-owned local environmental solutions company, seeks a custodian to clean, sanitize and maintain all assigned areas in compliance with quality and safety standards. The role involves vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, and keeping the janitor’s closet orderly; may require interaction with clients to ensure expectations are met.

A high school diploma or GED and custodial experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe waste receptacles and remove rubbish to designated areas.
• Vacuum rugs and clean floors; damp-mop spills in offices and public areas.
• Dust and wipe office furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Remove finger marks from doors and walls; maintain clean surfaces.
• Keep janitor’s closet clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Role

Directly responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining all assigned areas using established practices and procedures according to company and client standards of quality and safety. May require frequent interaction with client.

What You Will Do

• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe all waste receptacles as well as remove waste paper and rubbish from the premises to designated areas.
• Vacuum all rugs and carpeted areas, sweep or dust-mop hard floor surfaces, and damp-mop or clean spills as needed in offices, lobbies, corridors, stairwells, and public areas.
• Hand dust and wipe clean all office furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, windowsills, air-conditioning diffusers, wall grilles, and all other horizontal surfaces.
• Remove all finger marks and smudges from vertical surfaces, including doors, doorframes, light switches, private entrance glass, and partitions.
• Keep janitor’s closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.
