Job summary

Servicon, a family- and women-owned local company with over 50 years of experience in environmental solutions, is seeking a diligent custodian to clean, sanitize, and maintain assigned areas in accordance with our quality and safety standards.

You will interact with staff and clients, ensure cleanliness of offices and public areas, and support our culture of caring. A high school diploma or GED and 1+ years custodial experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years custodial cleaning experience or equivalent preferred.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.
• Strong problem solving and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe waste receptacles and dispose of waste.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets, sweep and damp-mop floors, and handle spills.
• Dust and wipe office furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and diffusers.
• Remove fingerprints and smudges from doors, switches, and glass.
• Keep janitor’s closet clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Role

Directly responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining all assigned areas using established practices and procedures according to company and client standards of quality and safety. May require frequent interaction with client.

What You Will Do

• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe all waste receptacles as well as remove waste paper and rubbish from the premises to designated areas.
• Vacuum all rugs and carpeted areas, sweep or dust-mop hard floor surfaces, and damp-mop or clean spills as needed in offices, lobbies, corridors, stairwells, and public areas.
• Hand dust and wipe clean all office furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, windowsills, air-conditioning diffusers, wall grilles, and all other horizontal surfaces.
• Remove all finger marks and smudges from vertical surfaces, including doors, doorframes, light switches, private entrance glass, and partitions.
• Keep janitor’s closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.
