Job summary

The State of Indiana's Adjutant General's Office is hiring an Environmental Clean Air Act Manager to apply federal and state regulations, calculate potential to emit, and submit permit modifications across facilities throughout the state.

A minimum of five years of environmental experience is preferred; a degree is not required. The role involves reviewing new regulations, conducting facility surveys, and coordinating with stakeholders, often traveling to sites statewide.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Federal and State Clean Air Act regulations and ability to apply them.
  • Experience with calculating potential to emit (PTE) for facilities/equipment.
  • Ability to review regulations and interpret applicability to facilities and permits.
  • Willingness to travel to inspection sites and work across Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as environmental expert and provide guidance to regulators, officials, and staff.
  • Manage projects and act as technical point-of-contact for environmental programs.
  • Research state/federal guidance; request information and defend permit terms.
  • Inspect facilities, cite violations, and provide regulatory guidance.
  • Enforce compliance and support agency programs across roles.
