Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks an experienced Genesis Design Clay Modeling Manager to oversee clay modeling for Genesis concept development and production feasibility.

You will lead a team of sculptors, translate digital design intent into precise physical models, and collaborate with design, digital modeling, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality surfaces. The role requires strong automotive design knowledge, hands-on craftsmanship, and leadership to ensure

Qualifications

• 10 years in automotive clay modeling and/or automotive design prototyping.
• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with 3D printing, milling, and composite materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of clay modeling across multiple design programs, coordinating workflow and resources.
• Create and deliver full-size and scale automotive clay models with high surface quality.
• Lead and mentor a team of sculptors to produce accurate models for development and reviews.
• Collaborate with designers, digital modelers, and engineers to resolve design challenges.
• Prepare presentation models and design bucks for leadership reviews and cross-functional meetings.
• Improve clay modeling processes, tooling, and workflows to enhance quality and efficiency.
