Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student supervision under licensed teachers. The role includes preparing materials, assisting with displays, and aiding in grading and attendance tasks.

You will also help supervise lunch and playground activities, assist in loading and unloading students, and communicate with parents as needed. A paraprofessional license or 60 college credits are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license or have 60 college credits and be eligible for certification.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work with school-aged children.
• Proficient in basic English grammar, spelling, and mathematics fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of pupils under supervision of a teacher.
• Supervise students during lunch and playground activities and monitor corridors.
• Assist with preparing classroom materials, bulletin boards, and display of student work.
• Assist in collecting and grading homework and exams under teacher supervision.
• Assist with loading/unloading students, book issuance, and attendance reporting.
