Job summary

Arkansas City Public Schools USD 470 is seeking a Student Assistant Team Member to support students and teachers in an instructional classroom setting during designated school hours.

You will assist in delivering instructional activities, supervise students, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment; strong communication and adaptability are valued. A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate degree or 48 college credits preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic principles of child development and learning styles.
• Skills in providing academic, social, and behavioral support to students.
• Ability to monitor and supervise students in various school settings.
• Ability to adapt instruction and materials as directed to meet student needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering instructional activities in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings.
• Provide individualized support to students to reinforce learning concepts.
• Adapt instructional materials to meet student needs.
• Monitor and supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school-related activities.
• Encourage appropriate student behavior through positive reinforcement and adherence to school rules.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with implementing accommodations and modifications as outlined in IEPs.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by classroom teacher or principal.
