Job summary

Solterra Academy seeks a Classroom Support Staff member to assist teachers in implementing academic, vocational, and behavioral programs within the classroom and school setting. Under supervision, you will support activities, transitions, and behavioral interventions while rotating across classrooms.

This role requires a year-round commitment, CPR within 90 days, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required with first training course provided after hire date.

Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. Join our team as a Classroom Support Staff member, assisting teachers and support teams in implementing academic, vocational, and behavioral programs in the classroom and surrounding school environment. Under teacher and administration supervision, you'll provide support for activities, transitions, and implement needed behavioral interventions. Record student performance data and contribute to creating a safe environment through effective TCI and PBIS practices. This role may involve rotating among various classrooms.

$1,000 Sign On Bonus Available

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM (In-Person)

Summer Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person)

Please note: This position requires a year-round commitment, including both the regular school year and our summer session. We do not offer summer-only employment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Previous experience working with children with severe behaviors is a plus
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided by Solterra Academy).
• Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required with the first training course provided after hire date (training provided by Solterra Academy).
