Job summary

Solterra Academy is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist to join our Clinical Team. You will assess, diagnose, and provide individualized speech and language services aligned with students' IEPs, working with educators, families, and staff in a therapeutic classroom setting.

The role supports a year-round schedule, including summer sessions, with a moderate caseload and ongoing trainings. In-person work hours are Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with summer hours 8:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology required.
• Connecticut SLP licensure or pending license.
• ASHA Certification (or CFY in progress) required.
• CT DOE 061 Certification (or pending) required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire and TCI training provided.
• TCI certification preferred.
• Experience with students with emotional/behavioral disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen, assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.
• Track and document student progress on IEP goals and communication.
• Conduct triennial evaluations and prepare reports within required timelines.
• Participate in PPT meetings and collaborate with primary teams.
• Partner with families and caregivers to support carryover of skills.
• Communicate effectively with staff using culturally responsive practices.
• Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Complete Medicaid documentation and service hour logs.
• May supervise college students for CFY or clinical field experiences as requested.

Education

Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology

Connecticut Department of Public Health SLP licensure (or pending)

CT State Department of Education 061 Certification (or pending)

Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education services for students ages 5 to 22 who require intensive support due to emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We are committed to creating a therapeutic, structured, and student-centered environment that supports the growth, independence, and success of every learner.

We are seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Clinical Team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with educators, clinicians, families, and support staff to assess, diagnose, and provide individualized speech and language services aligned with each student's IEP. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a therapeutic school setting with students who have complex needs.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (In-Person)

Summer Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person)

Please note: This position requires a year-round commitment, including both the regular school year and our summer session. We do not offer summer-only employment.
