Job summary

The Kindezi Schools in Atlanta is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support academic and social-emotional learning within a safe, positive school environment. You will work with general and special education teachers to provide targeted interventions and classroom support.

Qualifications

• Be a United States citizen or otherwise have authorization to work in the United States
• Background check by Atlanta Public Schools required
• GaPSC-issued clearance certificate required
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Knowledge of restorative practices, crisis management and de-escalation strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• 2+ years of experience with elementary and/or middle school students
• CPR and First Aid Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education and/or special education teachers to plan for small group or individualized interventions
• Provide small group or individualized instruction according to the prescribed phonics program
• Administer benchmark assessments to determine student growth
• Collect progress monitoring data for assigned students
• Support MTSS with interventions at all tiers
• Assist teachers with classroom organization, materials, and lesson plans
• Maintain a respectful classroom environment and report concerns to administration
• Supervise student transitions and school functions as needed
• Substitute in classrooms when lead teachers are absent
• Follow daily academic schedules and established lesson plans
