Job summary

Broward County Public Schools in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Instructional Assistant to provide high-quality care and supervision and classroom supports that enhance the instructional process. The position supports students and assists teachers in implementing individualized programs within the Broward County School System.

The role includes supervising students, preparing instructional materials, assisting with lunch and rest periods, and ensuring safety and compliance with PBIP and PCM

Qualifications

• A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved GED program.
• The ability to interact and communicate effectively with children.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of a teacher in creating instructional materials.
• Supervise and escort students to ensure safety and welfare inside the school.
• Provide classroom-related clerical support and data collection as needed.
• Prepare and use instructional materials and teaching aids under teacher direction.
• Assist with lunchroom activities and supervise nap/rest periods as required.
• Assist in providing care for children when the teacher is not present for up to 30 minutes.
