Qualifikationen

• CDA credential or associate degree required.
• One year of experience working with children.
• Ability to operate office, audio/visual, or related equipment.
• Understanding of what motivates student learning.
• Understanding of classroom curriculum for the assigned grade.
• Strong business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar and arithmetic.
• Patience and composure with children, including those with special needs.
• Professional and confidential handling of matters.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to follow City Schools policies, procedures and practices.
• Ability to work with staff and children and communicate clearly.
• Ability to maintain clerical and student records.
• Ability to perform routine and non-routine instructional tasks.

Aufgaben

• Provide instructional assistance in support of classroom activities.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional lessons, strategies, activities, and materials.
• Assist students individually and in small groups with instructional activities and assessments.
• Monitor student behavior and assist with classroom management.
• Administer tests and assessments; gather and review progress data.
• Prepare instructional materials, audio-visual aids, and reports.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and organized classroom.
• Perform clerical tasks including attendance, records, inventory, and reproduction of materials.
• Support instruction in writing, science, or technology and supervise lab equipment.
• Supervise students during off-site instruction and field trips.
• Attend to younger children during rest periods and assist with daily living activities as appropriate.
