Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking an Associate Educator for the Check and Connect program at Edison site for the 2026-2027 year. The role supports licensed staff to reinforce classroom learning and create a positive learning environment.

The position involves assisting teachers, guiding student learning and behavior, and contributing to data collection and reporting to support student progress.

Qualifications

• ParaPro Assessment score (460 or higher) and a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of professional experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed staff in classrooms to maintain a safe, diverse and productive learning environment and reinforce classroom learning.
• Assist students in learning processes; reinforce positive behavior and provide individual instruction.
• Monitor and supervise student activities; de-escalate personal confrontations and enforce district policies.
• Record data for academic and behavioral assessments and maintain student progress files.
