Job summary

Monroe Preparatory Academy in Sandusky, Ohio, part of ACCEL Schools, seeks an Instructional Aide to support teachers, promote positive student behavior, and help maintain a constructive classroom climate.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, classroom assistance, basic clerical tasks, and supervision during activities and transitions. Candidates should have an associate degree or equivalent and be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or completion of Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to meet educational standards and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher with lessons for individuals or groups and follow plans.
• Help plan classroom activities and support teacher with student/parent relations.
• Support school activities including events, faculty meetings, assemblies, and field trips.
• Perform clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Assist with the use of classroom technology.
• Help maintain cleanliness of classrooms, lunchroom, and other areas.
• Abide by and implement the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties as assigned (field trips, duty rosters, etc.).
