Job summary

Springbrook NY Inc. is seeking a Classroom Aide for GEMS School in Oneonta, NY. You will support the classroom teacher with supervision and care of students and participate in program hours.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, MAT preschool certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Experience with developmentally disabled children is preferred, and you must be flexible to work various shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate degree preferred.
• MAT certification (Preschool) required.
• Experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision of children in classroom and program hours.
• Demonstrate awareness of the daily classroom schedule and assist other staff as needed.
• Support learning activities and use adaptive equipment.
• Assist data collection and recording of student performance.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain confidentiality.
• Administer first aid for minor injuries.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
