Job summary

South Columbus Preparatory Academy - German Village in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an Instructional Aide to assist teachers and promote a positive classroom climate for EK-8 students. You will support lessons, help with activities, and supervise student activities in collaboration with the school team.

The role involves clerical tasks, basic classroom tech support, and ensuring safety and order in the learning environment. Relevant checks and education requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or passage of Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to manage tasks under pressure with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports teacher in student/parent relations.
• Assists with school activities, faculty meetings, assemblies, field trips, and other duties.
• Performs clerical duties, including grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the teacher in using classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and common areas.
• Adheres to school philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties as assigned, including early morning or lunch duties.
