Job summary

Isana in Los Angeles, CA seeks a General Education Paraprofessional to support the classroom teacher and principal. You will plan and teach small groups, differentiate instruction, and help students stay on task with increasing independence.

You will also assist with classroom routines, manage behavior, supervise during recess and lunch, and collaborate with staff on behavioral supports. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• AA degree or Bachelor’s degree, OR at least 48 successfully earned semester units of college coursework from an accredited college/university (must include 9 hours Reading/Writing and 6 hours Math).
• Must pass criminal background check and provide proof of negative TB test.
• CPR/First Aid certification and Child Abuse training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach small group instruction in the classroom under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Collaborate with teacher on weekly lesson planning and differentiating instruction.
• Assist with management of student behavior and classroom routines.
• Provide structured supervision on the yard during recess, lunch, before school, and after school.
• Collaborate with school staff on behavioral supports and conflict resolution.
